of Reichswehr-Brigade 21 formed in June 1919 and which merged with Reichswehr-Brigade 22 in October 1919 to form Reichswehr-Brigade 21 in the Transitional Army (Übergangsheer).
So, I'd place this photo somewhere between June and October 1919.
Here are the same type of armbadges and a photo of the original owner.
Also, I forgot to mention that based on the b&w contrast of the oval armbadge in your photo, the wearer was in either 1. bayer. leichtes Artillerie-Regiment 21. (light artillery) or
1. bayer. schwere Artillerie-Abteilung 21 (heavy artillery).
nice photo. Interestingly he's wearing the heavy wool mountaineering leggings which were worn by many in Freikorps Epp especially armored car, artillery and machinegun troops.
