Picked up this medal bar,I know it's missing the Wilhelm Wurttemburg Charlotte cross. My question is, is this an original bar and medals? I'm not versed in this period of military items and I'm not versed in medal bar construction. I'm just getting into Friekorps and WW1 items. Thanks for everyone's help in advance!

Nice original Freikorps/Weimar bar. That's not the ribbon for the Charlotte Cross. It's a Freikorps award - the Merit Cross 2nd class of the 3rd Marine Brigade von Loewenfeld.Last edited by Brian L.; 05-31-2016, 09:22 PM.Comment

The rust on the medals is not evident on the ribbons so I would say these do not belong together. Perhaps the medals are from another source or were rusted on a seperate bar that you do not show. The construction of the bar looks good to my eye. Hang the medals on there and see if the bottoms of the medals line up with each other. Not a 100% sign but a start. Have you black lighted the ribbons? I think it stands a chance to be real.Comment
