Who can tell me more about the background story of this cap tally?

I know it was based in Wilhelmshaven and existed from February 1919 to about August 1920 when it became the Nordsee Torpedobootflotille of the Reichsmarine.

Together with the Frewillige-Minensuch-Verbande it operated in both the North Sea and Baltic Sea in support of the Baltic campaign.

It also operated on land as a marine unit and fought against the Spartacist People's Naval Division in Wilhelmshaven and later in Hamburg. A flotilla of boats was sent down the Elbe River in June 1919 ostensibly as part of Eastern border defense.

The Eiserne Torpedobootsflottille was commanded by Korvetten-Kapt. Rudolf Lahs who eventually became a Konter-Admiral.
