Freikorps / Stahlhelmbund? What is it?

Who knows more about these soldiers?

It seems, some guys have Stahlhelmbund badges on their uniforms.

Defintely vorläufiges Reichswehr, prior to October 1919. So, I don't think it's a Stahlhelm badge.

Im not 100% certain, but the collar abzeichen looks like Detachment Tullmann.

The fellow standing at farthest screen right has an interesting sleeve badge as well, any idea what it might be?

I had the same thought. But, it's hard to say as the detail is not clear.

Looks like a Stahlhelm to me, too. Maybe I see helmets everywhere.

Hmm... yeah I can see what you guys are getting at.
It could be the national colors (Black, White, Red), in this photo he is the only one wearing it.

One guy is wearing a badge that has a Stahlhelm on it. It's a Freikorps badge. I just don't remember what it means. But, it's not Stahlhelmbund. A group of Stahlhelmbund, except maybe from December 1918/January 1919 wouldn't wear Krätzchen, WWI ammo pouches, have grenades or be sitting behind an MG '08. The officer on the left is wearing a mid-1919 cap wreath (after June 1919) as well as a Freikorps sleeve chevron and Freikorps/early Reichswehr twisted braid shoulder boards. The guy with the Stahlhelm badge wears the same shoulder boards. The collars do appear to be Detachment Tullmann. There's nothing Stahlhlembund about this pic.

Look careful at the other soldiers! I did not talk about the soldier with the badge on the arm! I did not say it is Stahlhelm group. Freikorps...early Reichswehr...I have no problem with that. But why it is impossible, that Freikorps soldiers were in the Stahlhelmbund or wore Stahlhelmbund badges? The Stahlhelm was founded in 1918.

Yes you're correct. The Stahlhelm actually acted as a Freikorps unit initially, in reserve and as a headquarter guard in Berlin in 1919. A possible explanation is that those with Stahlhelm badges are Stahlhelm members attached to Detachment Tüllmann. If so, this would be the earliest Stahlhelm related picture I've ever seen.

Searching for new history facts. Always exciting!

A few months ago I found a 1924 Wehrwolf photo.....armbands, insignia etc. which I have never seen before.

Tüllmann was in later years a Stahlhelm-leader anyway (Landesverband Nordmark). I think his detachment was absorbed within the early Stahlhelm. I do not know if this has something to do with the photograph.
