    Reichswehr! Unknown soldier Marine??

Who can tell me more about this soldier?

Piping on his cap looks dark (black?), I think there is an anchor on his buttons....I'm not sure about the shoulder boards.

On his arm he has an arm badge. Looks like a star.

        What is the meaning?

The star indicates rank. Reichsmarine Ober-Matrose (Senior Seaman). The shoulder boards have a star/diamond above crossed anchors (also his rank). It's likely marine infantry based on the style of uniform. Post 1921.

          Cool Pic.

Marine Infanterie or could it be Kuestenartillerie?

Perhaps. Although I think coastal artillery would still have worn the navy tunic.

That is the question! I think in the Wehrmacht later, the Kuestenartillerie used similar uniforms like the Heer.

                We need a Marine expert!

I have a book coming on Reichswehr and Reichsmarine uniforms and insignia. When it arrives, maybe I'll have more info.
