Reichswehr jager cap

A nice jager cap to bridge Imperial era jager to Third Reich jager. I am having a hard time understanding the unit marks. The small box has JR3 indicating Infantry Rgt 3. However the marks on the left and right of the box are confusing, at least to me. I know that the third battalion of some regiments held the traditions of Imperial jager battalions. The mark seems to indicate a III Bn but also a II Bn and the company mark 3 or 5 K wouldn't fit either battalion. What am I missng? Thanks.

Hello Mike,

A friend of mine told me that the 2nd and 4th Infantry had Jaeger Battalions that carried the traditions color but not the 3rd. I was a little confused also when I saw this hat!! It is an awfully nice hat though!!

Great cap from a very under appreciated era! Might the stamp be a depot ( Bekleidungsamt) mark?
