    5th Armeekorps badge

    Good or bad value?

The film "Idiocracy" was originally released as a comedy. Now it has been re-released as a documentary.

First of all, this should be in the Freikorps section.

I've never seen this version of the badge before without the inscription Grenzschutz Ost 1919. Also the pin is different than the two known types.

That being said, it's possible that it's a hitherto unknown (at least to me) variation.

Alternately, the first badge posted may be an Imperial Army precursor to a later Freikorps alteration which ulitised the same basic, but slightly altered / more specific, design.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

I doubt it, as the badge was instituted in 1920 from a design suggested by a Freikorps officer, whose name escapes me at the moment.

Agreed. The pin assembly is unlike anything yet seen in imperial times. Chip
