    Veteran Cross 1914-1918

Hi I want to share with you a nice veteran medal, a "Kriegsehrenkreuz der Kriegsfreiwilligen 1914-1918", I was lucky to acquired recently. It is highly vaulted, rich enameled center, nice pin set up and marked Ges. Gesch. – P. KÜST – BERLIN.
No idea how many were awarded/private purchased through the Bund der Kriegsfreiwilligen starting in 1921 until banned, but if you have any information please feel free to share it.
Hope you like it, as much as I do.

I always liked these. Not as common as other veteran awards from the 20s.

Considering what it is, it's very nicely made especially in the hardware construction.

Although it falls into the vanity bling so prevalent after WWI designed to compensate for the trauma of losing the war, to fill the chests of vets who often got so little in return for all their sacrifice and of course to keep the orders manufacturers in business, these vet awards are actually some of the most attractive stuff around.
