With the date, 1.4.1919, this was certainly when the Stahlhelm was technically a Freikorps unit, serving as a staff headquaters guard during the Spartacist uprising in Berlin.

Congratulations Chris, this is a nice item from the Gründer Gau, nicely engraved.
Now a 1918 version. Practically all of these 1918-men were from the Einwohnerwehr, Zeitfreiwilligen Bataillon Magdeburg.
