It looks ok. But, admittedly I've only ever seen one of these before, as it's quite scarce. It appears to be the same as the one I saw and I haven't heard of this cross ever being reproduced.

Hmmmm...I'm aware only of the 2nd class of this award, never heard about the 1st. Is it made of silvered bronze? What is the size of it?

You're right. There was one with a suspension loop on eBay awhile ago.

But, the one I handled back in the 70s was exactly the same as this with a pin and no indication that it ever had a suspension loop.

Perhaps it was like the Baltic Cross in that there was a pin-back made. But, it only came in 1 class.

It's hard to know of course because it's not very common.

          Hello
Cross has 42 mm X 42 mm dimension. Weight 35 gram. I'm not sure whit metal is made but is for 100% sure thick silvered. Can I ask what is the price for 2'nd class in similar condition?

This is definitely the 2nd class on a pin for some reason, instead of a suspension loop. I now don't what to think about it.

There was a 1st class, which I had forgotten about. It looks completely different than this. It's a silver and black enamel maltese cross with the same central medallion also in silver and black enamel. Both classes came with and without swords.

I find one picture in www - 2'nd class and in my oppinion it can't be 2'nd class converted to 1'st class. Just take a look:

I collect Beuthener memories, even copies So if you would like to sale it you can always write to me. I have 1st class, nad as someone told here, 1st class is totaly diferent, with black emalie.

In catalog something similar like yours is not marked as Selbstschutz-Kompanie Beuthen but Kompaniekreuz 2class:. But this is bit diferent than yours.
