Die Schwarze Schande - The Black Shame

Hello everybody, I got this curious piece today. It was presented to me by Annelise Ort, 95, who served as mail censor in Germany during the war and later fled to Switzerland three months before war's end. I've read about this badge and the Rhineland occupation but I also read that these badges are heavily faked. Could anyone tell me if the one I have is an original?
    Thank you!

What I always find interesting about these is the pyramid and all seeing eye, I wonder if anyone knows more about why that features on this piece?

Could it be a ground dug?

I think it lacks the detail of an original.

Don, thanks for the input. It doesn´t look too detailed indeed, but maybe the ground-dug theory could be right? Any other opinions?

Is there a cast seam on the rim?

I thought these were made of bronze. If so, I would not expect that much loss of detail.

It's a bad casted copy, just like 99% of these for sale on the internet, originals are very hard to find.

Look at this one for comparrison:
