    Weimar combat jacket

    hello guys

    i have this jacket in mine collection,, maybe i gone sel it for other purchase, before going to E stand opinons are welkom

    Tunic at a glance appears to be mid-1920's, Der Stahlhelm. Its not a combat tunnic persay since they were a veterans/paramilitary organization. Im not sure what the black band and collar tab signify. Badges, are WW1/Imperial related.... black wound badge, WW1 veterans badge, and sports badge.

        Yeah perhaps that is its function, makes sense. Armbands became quite popular in the Weimar era, but usually they had some kind of inscription if it wasn't temporary.

          Owner tunic consisted Stahlhelmbund and was a member of SA.

            Although the collar patches and shoulder board seem to be SA, Im not sure hey belong on the tunic. I cant recall see'ing any period photos with Stahlhelm members using SA collar tabs and shoulder boards. Perhaps at the time of their amalgamation there could have been some crossover as we see here?

            If someone knows otherwise, please correct me!

              According to the order of the Supreme management of SA of the January 25, 1934, all members of Stahlhelmbund transferred to structure of a reserve of SA of the first category (SAR I) had to wear a uniform and signs of distinction of SA, but they a form, as a rule, left the and changed only distinction signs.

                an order from August 8, 1933 from Gruppenführer von Morozowirz mentions already the wearing of the Stahlhelm field-grey tunic with SA-armband, SA collar-patches with ranking-insignia and shoulder-strap according to the SA dress-regulation. As a member from a motor unit the black diamond was allowed.

                    Nice photos, if it wasn't for the sleeve patch and perhaps belt buckle, the untrained eye would just see SA members. Wilhelm's info brings it all together, well done.

                    Hindenburg died in '34, so these additions (black sleeve band) would be close in age.
