Btw, I'm looking for a book about the Scharnhorstbund. Can anybody tell me, if it existed books about the theme??

PS: Tried to find an informative source in internet, too. But I had no luck. Perhaps anybody knows a good source?

My one piece of Scharnhorst memorabilia is this arm band. There are no markings on the band. Alan

                  Hello sergeant08,

as far as I know there is not much literature about Scharnhorst (Bund deutscher Jungmannen e.V.). In various Stahlhelm-books a small part is included about Scharnhorst.
Further exists: Scharnhorst, Die Monatsschrift Deutscher Jungmannen. This magazine from the Scharnhorst-Verlag, must have existed since about 1928.

At the moment I'm still not very familar with the Scharnhorstbund theme, but I think such armbands were not a part of the regular uniform. I guess the armbands were used for special events. I remember the Stahlhelmbund used armbands in the Reichsfarben for different events (a rally etc.).

Never seen such an armband before!

It is no member badge, it is an enameled metal armshield. You could sew it on the uniform.

I have some photos of the owner with this shield. I will post it later.

Thanks Wim! Then I have to look in the Stahlhelm books.

PS: You will get an email with the requested picture at the end of the week.

This badge has nothing to do with the lot, that started the thread.

But I think here is the best place to post it.

It is the Scharnhorstbund badge for members first pattern (big crown in the middle of the cross).

I really like the worn charakter of the badge.

Collar tabs with metal crowns, enameled armshield and cuff title. I know the cuff title, the other insignia I have never seen before.
