    Freikorps Photos?

    Gents,

here are 2 photos that are not related but mysterious to me.
I am thinking of Freikorps troups for various reasons.
I will let the pictures talk.
Any hints and conclusions on time and place are most welcome!

    Best,
    taube.

In the 1st photo at the bottom, they are wearing Freikorps collar insignia that is likely Bayerisches Freiwilligen Detachement Bogendörfer commanded by Oberstleutnant (later Generalmajor) Friedrich Ritter von Bogendörfer.

On the 2nd photo, the badge in the red square is that of the Bavarian 11th Infantry Division which would likely make it wartime.

          Thanks!
You are probably right about the badge in photo #2.
None of the men are wearing "Reichskokarden" on their caps though...

You're right about the cockade. It's possible that it's just after the war ended and they are a newly formed Freikorps before badges were issued. The ribbon on the caps of several of the men might be some temporary Freikorps insignia. They certainly are a motley crew, which would be typical of the early Freikorps.
