    skull stickpin

I posted this pin on another forum and a gent thought it might be Freikorps. It is about 2 cm. tall. Any opinions are appreciated. Thanks

    Likely not Freikorps.

Sergeant 08 is the skull expert and might know specifically.

But, there were loads of different style skulls available in the 20s used by lots of paramilitary groups not related to the Freikorps, not to mention that the Italians used them in WWI and II and the Poles used them, as well.

I think from the Weimar period. Please compare your skull stickpin with skulls on Wehrwolf collar tabs.

      Nearly identical!

          Gentlemen,

Does anyone know the purpose of these small pin size grinning skulls ?

The collar tab is just for scale comparison. No evidence of a pin attachment, or any method of attachment for that matter.

          I appreciate any feedback!

          Thanks!

I found similar small skulls in past. No pin, no silvering. They also came with pin and silverring , please look at the photo! Sometimes it is not easy to identify stick pins, but in my opinion this pattern looks like the Braunschweig skull.

              Interesting!

These things are very discreet in size, perhaps on a lapel it would be more recognizable.

Maybe the intent was that only the initiated would have a clue. Who knows?

I noticed the same skull on HR17's thread, the little guy near the edge of the hat.

              Thanks Sergeant
