Unknown Chevron ?? Navy?? Imperial?? Der stahlhelm???

Hello, I just pick up this chevron from a show, a few days ago and I was told it was navy but my gut is telling me that it's something else?

Would anyone happen to have any idea on what it is for?

I am also guessing that it is WW1 or 1920s?

No ideas, I was told from the imperial is most likely post ww1. ??
