    Medal-bar with silesian eagle

Here is a nice enlisted trapezoid medal-bar with an interesting combination of awards:

EKII with makers mark "KO" = Königl. Münzamt, Stuttgart
    Oldenburg: Friedrich-August Kreuz 2. Kl
    Hamburg: Hanseatic cross
Weimar: Silesian Eagle 2. grade in laquered bronze (stamped from one piece)

The Silesian Eagle was awarded for service within the Grenzschutz (border guard) of the Army corps VI in Silesia in 1919. 3 months service for the 2. grade and 6 months for the 1. grade (with pinback).

    Jens--

Aha! With THAT "coastal North German" combination, this man was undoubtedly a member of one of the three Marine Brigade Freikorps there!

Is the back of the Silesian Eagle smooth or mirror image stamped of the front?

    A nice looking group!

      Now *that's* a nice bar!!!!
That proves the point that there don't have to be a dozen enamelled awards on it for a bar to be nice looking.
Herr Major, posten sie the back of that bar, bitte.
      Thanks,
      Eric Gaumann

Rick, the back of the eagle is mirror stamped.
Eric, sorry, just Feldwebel der Reserve aber die Rückseite bekommst Du noch.

I'll try to get an image of the back, a friend of me has got the "good" scanner and I'll make a better scan of the front too. Gimme a few days!!!

        Greetings

Here are better scans. The pinback of the bar is missing. Someone here with a pinback to repair?
