The lettering says, that the soldiers were in an isolation hospital in Insterburg (Ostpreußen).
16th-22th December 1919.
The suspicion was typhus (Fleckfieber)!
Look at the Brunswick skulls, the Russian cap cockades, arm badges etc.! I think the soldiers came from different Freikorps (Eiserne Divison, 1.Garde-Reserve-Division etc.) and they fought in the Deutsche Legion in the Westrussische Befreiungsarmee of Awaloff in 1919.Last edited by Sergeant 08; 05-23-2012, 01:02 PM.
