strange Armband ... " Saarschutz " HELP

A few weeks ago I bought some WWI & WWII items from an " retired" collector ... In between was this strange / interesting armband . there is no doubt it's an old item , kind of fabric , the way it's made etc. but ... there is a problem with it - I know about Saarschutz existing in post 1945 Germany , but this armband's writing style , the shape of this gothic letters doesn't mach with post WWII time period ( in my opinion- it looks to anachronic !! )- please correct me if I'm wrong . This item looks more like WWI period , which push me more to Freikorps ... where I see maybe the only reasonable place...
please help if you can .
any suggestions very welcome

Strange Armband

Hello,
IMO, this armband says Saalschutz, meaning that it was worn by someone who was in charge of keeping a meeting hall safe and peaceful; sort of like a bouncer at a nightclub. Hope that helps, Chris

Big thanks ! I don't know , why I didn't see an L instead of R ... We always see what we want to ... in a week 37 y.o. and not a bit wiser ....... to err is a human .
