ok guys i am a bit puzzeled what this may be. i know looks like a button etc but where would it of been sawn onto ? i was thinking prob near to the belt ?

two were sewn in between the cloth for the tunic and the inner lining at the back of a tunic (greatcoat is also posible), to let rest the belt in it around the waist! With this the belt could easier be worn and did not slide away!
They are quite hard to find!Comment

glad I could help. I think most of the tunics were without these nice "Taillenknöpfe". They were double or triple the price for a regular button!Comment

same here , i do like it when something that i have not come across before turns up out of the blue and although had a rough idea what it was but to get it 100% identified by other members is great and the exchange of that infomation is fantastic , so thankyou again
i have attached a pic of the items i got with this item although i have posted it on another thread in the freikorps section
and even better news wait till i get my new item
wont post it till arrives but another great find from a totally new source
