Freikorps stuff on ebay

hi Guys,
this stuff is on ebay. Is it good? What exactly are they. I never really understood who awarded the freikorps medals as i always understood these were ex military guys who just came toghether not under any governmental system.

The reverses look funky to me.

The first one is, in my opinion, a repro of the Von Randow Cross, the second one is the Neufville Cross and it might be good. I'm not convinced by the silvered guard star but the pin seems correct. A scan of the screwback system is indispensable.
If you search for "Randow" and "Neufville" in this forum you can find several thread about this two awards.

Hi Sal,

Mario is right. But i think, the Randow Cross (the first) could be an original piece. These crosses exist with very strange pin and needle systems.

The "von Randow" is probably from the fraternal organization that used the same design (see somments on this in prior threads)


The second one was for the Freiwilliges Landesschützenkorps and it's probably ok. I've seen these with silvered or gilt stars, so it's possible that there were different classes, distinguished by color rather than the more typical pinback-1st and ribboned-2nd convention.
