Seeking information on the Medal Kyffäuserbund

    Hello all,

For some time, I am the happy owner of a Kyffäuserbund League Medal, which is most remarkable feature, besides the crossed swords, a plaque on the front of the Somme, only, as I have seen no other copies online with plate but they look two fronts, usually, so if I'm not exactly a rare example to, or the original owner wanted to put this board, although at the time assured me that everything was totally original.

I tried to find information about it, but very little that I could find after a little research about it. I wonder if any of you could help me in this research, of course, if needed photographs of my award, do not hesitate to ask me, it is a subject that really interests me.

I also apologize in advance because I'm using the Google translator, which is not as accurate as it should.

Greetings to everyone and I hope your answers.

Ok, here we show you some pictures, hope they are sufficient:

Anyway, I do not think it is a rare variant or something similar, I think maybe the original owner amend it, is what I want to investigate if this is normal, or a customization ... but it is I want to investigate as closely as possible, but in no book stores about it, as far as I know.

If more images are needed, for more details or other reasons, do not hesitate to ask them.

      Thank you and greetings

Niemann documented 76 "official" bars for this medal and another 23 unofficial ones. "Somme" was one of the unofficial bars.

            Thanks for the reply.

That is, my medal carries an unofficial bar, and was probably added to it by its original owner, is that correct?.

Aside from Niemann, can someone tell me if there is another publication on this medal, to continue my research?, Or someone can contact me in private message, in order to expand the information?

Interestingly, all the bars I saw on the internet, named after two fronts, such as Verdun-Somme, but never with just the name of a battle front, and that made me suspect something. The rest of the medals I have seen in my hand, not carrying any bar, only in some cases, the crossed swords.

Any other opinion is always welcome.

            Grettings.
