    Vanity Bars

During the 20's-early 30s anyone could look like a hero by buying commemorative awards and joining veteran's organizations. The advent of the Hindy put an end to that. Let's see your vanity bars.

Here is mine. This guy has only one real awards, the Prussian EK2.

I only have a ribbon bar with these types of awards. These are all interesting under studied items.

I bought this Saxon bar in large part because of the 'vanity medals'

          Württemberg EM bar

I know this 1935 Prussian EM bar isnt considered a 'vanity bar ' per se, i include it because of the two LS medals.

Of all the veteran's medals/crosses out there from WW1, I have always liked this one best! It came this way, removed from a medal brace attached to EK2 ribbon with the 1st Marine Infantry Regiment Clasp attached. Sorry, faster with the scanner, so the reverse is not all that clear. the clasp was made by Paul Kust his address in Berlin and Ges. Gesch. Stamped into the reverse.

If I'm not mistaken, the 4th ribbon is of the Freikorps von Lutzow Treukreuz, first pattern; a very scarce award.

You've got to love that home-made 'Langemak' bar, is that in Belgium or China?
