Looks like an anniversary patch.
I guess Prussian cavalry veterans?
Red background, the red color was used by different cavalry units. Only one example.....the Leib-Garde-Husaren! -

After some quick research I think it has connection to the LGHR!
Horse shoe shaped, red color for LGH and the dates are very important/connect it to LGHR 50 years existence celebration. Three references:

When I clicked on the two links to the magazine 50 Jahre Verein Leibgarde Husaren 1883-1933, I received an error messages.
I would very much like to see this publication. Please send me a file of this publication. Or post the pages showing the 28 commanders of this regiment.
Alternately, do you know where I could purchase a copy?
