More and more collectors are interested in the badges and inisignia from the times of the German Freikorps. Daily new fakes appaer on the market. Some are very crude made, but others have a very good quality. That is why I want to start a Freikorps fakes reference thread, which can help the collectors.

Not such a terrible fake like the medal in #2, but again only another kind of fake of this popular medal.

Look at the unsharp details like the teeth etc.

No idea who buys these SSOS fake badges, but they appear in auctions every week.

It seems, that there are interested buyers....

Fake Baltic Cross

Currently on eBay Germany from the raritaetensammlerclub

Ok, when you first look at the front. But, a quick examination of the back and it becomes obvious. The matte finish is too matte, the paint seems too thick and the pin is the standard pin from this outfit. I've never seen a pin quite like this on any known genuine cross.
