    Freikorps or what???

    Hello!

I would like to know, what kind of soldier/officer is pictured on this wedding portrait. Photo dated April 24th 1920, taken in Berlin.

Of interest are the very unique shako plate (seem to be half of a Prussian one) and the sleeve badge. I´m on the track to link him to a SiPo (Sicherheitspolizei) unit....dono if that could be right.

However, maybe one of our Freikorps enthusiasts is able to tell me more about (unit pp.).

Every help on this is more than appreciated! Many thanks in advance.

I could be way off but it looks like a police shako to me. Steve

Yes, but I never saw such style of plate on a Police shako

Gerd, Is the badge a musician's badge? Band or such like?

Mike, that might be a possibility.

Here a compare of a WW2 badge with the one in question.
