OK. I am really, really impressed Harmel. I thought you had the Admirals and genrals series but this is really, really obscure and useful knowledge. How do you know it is him? Is there a cite?

Jeff, sorry late in replying,I have been away for a few days.
The info is not from a site, but looked at a photo on the new DVD
on Ritterkreuztrager im Bild published in Germany and compared the
photo taken in WW2 which has a profile taken from the side, and to me
he looks the same even though he has prominent ears.
Do apologise for not answering sooner.
                Kind Regards Harmel

                  Hi Harmel,
I don't think he is von Neufville himself... where are EKI and EKII? And the signature is very different (see von Salomon's Der buch das Freikorpskampfer).

                  regards,
                  Mario

Here is an interesting piece I picked up at a show last weekend. It may have some small relationship to the photo.

It is a 9mm Parabellum model 1914 Commercial.

Here's von Neufville earlier, as a Stahlhelm leader (earlier than W.W.II, that is). You be the judge on whether it's the same fellow. If so, he was aging nicely.

I'm not so sure about the unit i.d. The well-documented collar emblem for the von Neufville unit was a traditional guard star with equal-lengthed rays. The one in the photo is another traditional style that has four long rays (at the compass points) and shorter ones in between. While it's hard to see, the sleeve emblem doesn't appear to be either the "v.N" or "IG" emblems of v.N's unit.

                            Hi,

Could someone tell me what is the medal he is wearing around the neck? And below his EK I? And his ribbon bar?

                            Cheers,

                            Jaime.
