    Help on identifying helmet

I need some help on identifying a helmet I recently added to my collection.

It looks a lot like a M56 helmet but the holes for the rivets are in a different spot.

There was a small part of a M44 liner left. I removed this to disclose the ET stamp. Below that there is a number 34 stamp.

Also there is no rim edge and visor edge is shorter. I asked a friend who works in metal to see if it was manually cut but he says it is impossible to do and maintaining such a strait line.
The holes are not drilled as far as he can see.

The helmet has a dark Green colour which I was unable to find on M56 helmets. The M56 I have are more like Gray colour.

This seems to me to be one of the Thale BII prototypes.

To the best of my knowledge:
If this is original (I don't know remotely enough about these to even make an educated guess), this would have been produced by the Nazis during the war. Several designs were tested by them; some did not make it past testing, however the models BII did and were ultimately only rejected because the M42 design then used by the Nazis was iconic.

Someone with more knowledge about these may be able to shed some more light on it for you than I have, or correct me if I've made any mistakes myself.
