    Shoulder Board Question

    Dear All,

I have those boards that raise some questions, ignore the Inf. Uffz...

    - the subdued ones are for a Gefreiter and NCO candidate, is that correct?
    - the border guard ones, what does the wide greed loop signify?
    - the last pair is for Signal, correct? If so, what period are those boards? Their construction suggest an earlier production, and the color of the piping seems to be darker, more like Wehrmacht Cav., rather than Signal. Also, the Tresse design looks more like Wehrmacht squares than the later NVA diamonds.

    Thank You!

The Green Loops are for Postenfuehrer in the BG.
Means, if you have a Post, mostly of 2 Soldiers, the one with the Green Loop is the Boss, even if he's one Rank under the other one, or both have the same Rank.
The Signals I would date to the early 70's, these were made up to 1971, but had no wearout date, often these were used until Stock lasts.
The NCO Candidate looks strange, I never saw such a "selfmade" Bar, just woven Ribbons from the Yard in the matchin colour.
The silver Tresse is OK, but often used to Fake Wehrmacht.

Ok, so it's Postenfuehrer in! Thank You for your time and answers!

From your experience, is the Postenfuehrer and the earlier Signals pair something scarce or rather common?

They're not everyday's Items but I don't want to call them scarce as you find them from time to time.
