Gentlemen, ID help, please. 2 medals and 1 school badge.

I think the 2 medals are earlier NVA long service medals. The one has very obvious silver patina to it. However, it does not have a content mark which if I recall correctly should be at 6 o'clock on the reverse. So this means plated? Don't have access to a scale until tomorrow.

The school badge I can go and look up but I figured I'd ask since I'm here. And is US$15 around the correct price range (for just the badge?)

    Vielen Danke!

The two medals are the NVA 10 year service award (silver) and the 5 year service award (bronze). The bronze medal is an earlier one, I'd say from the mid to late 1960s or maybe up to about 1970.

The silver medal looks like it's plated in real silver but the medal itself is made of bronze. They stopped using 900 silver for the planchets in around 1968 I believe. I'd guess the medal in in the photo is from the early to mid 1970s. The ribbon may be of later vintage - the needle and catch look a like a newer variety from around the late 70s to early 80s maybe?

Going off the top of my head, the academy badge is for graduates of civilian universities and was introduced in 1987. In my opinion $15 is a bit pricey for this badge. I'd say $5 - $10 is more like it.

Good catch Eric, these are pre-1977 variations.

Thanks all for the help!!! It's very much appreciated.

And yeah, after some post-purchase searching $5-10 does seem about right for that school badge. But, I figured I could just add it to my Officer's jacket display and it would spruce it up even for the extra dough. Just checked my closet...my jacket's already got one.
          Thanks,
