    Hi Bryan

Those flags are very nice .
Does anybody know how many different designs there are for the
arm in the middle of the flag ?
I mean the differences in colour etc .
This one has a blue arm and the other one is grey and white , the one on my silk Kampfgruppen flag has a brown arm and the KG
flags with the big crest have also grey and white but its different than the one from Bryan .

    Regards , Johan

            Hey Bryan,

Its still a "Regimental Flag" and that is quite something. A bit damaged?
I say that gives it character

Congratulations. That is a really special piece and will make a very nice addition to your constantly growing collection.

Jon - I saw that too on E-bay and as I was Googling for a lower priced copy I ran across another KG book in German -

Armee oder Freizeitclub? Die Kampfgruppen der Arbeiterklasse in der DDR, by Volker Koop, 1997.

I have a copy of this docco... its a bit dull, the only really interesting piece is the final page which lists some of the unit honour names... keep meaning to upload that onto here as I think some of you might find it interesting...

                    <CENTER>Hello Kozlov:
The KG unit honor names sounds like very interesting information,
so please do post it when you have the chance. Would such honor
names be added as a streamer to the already presented
number and named location KG unit flags? Likewise, I note
that the 1977 DIA KG report states that there were "as
                    many as 300 motorized battalions",
so I guess that means at least 300 KG unit flags once existed too?

Hello all - I have revived this thread with a question. Please refer to post 17 related to me question.

A lot of the DDR medals have a ring that is placed on the top of the medal, but I have seen that the 20 year Kampfgruppen medal appears to be all of one construction? Is that correct for this medal? And can a member please post a picture of the backing of this medal?

                      Thanks...

                        Ralph,

If you mean by "Backing" the medal's reverse, here it is:

Interesting that this is the lowest in precedence of the Kampfgruppen medals/orders, but is in my opinion, the nicest and certainly comes in the nicest box of any of that organizations medals.

Hey Mike - Thanks for the photograph. I wanted to see the one piece construction between the ring and the medal.
