    Arjan,

As inferred on the forum to which you originally posted. This appears to be East German Flachentarn, more commonly referred to by English speaking DDR Collectors as "Splotch" or "Leaf" cammo. It was phased out in 65 for "Rain Pattern" cammo, which is more readily identified with DDR Field Gear.

      Thanks Michael,

And is this used as zeltbahn or for uniforms either?

Used for Zeltbahn, uniforms and a multitude of other accessories to include Stahlhelm and Canteen Covers.

          Arjan,

Hope you haven't gone away and are still around.
I've been talking with a friend and I think I jumped the starting gate on this one, mate. Sorry.

I didn't see or notice that in the Zeltbahn you posted, there are raindrop patterns in with the leaf.
So this definitely is not DDR. They never mixed the two.

It most probably is Post WWII Swiss.
A long shot is that it might also be Post WWII Czech.

But contrary to my ealier response, it for sure is not DDR.
          Again, sorry for the confusion.

You might also want to post it on the Gunboards hosted DDR Forum. Those guys are real sharp about field gear and cammo. They probably will recognize it for what it is right away.

It could be even be of Yugoslavian extract ? It's not the more modern Yugo pattern for a poncho, but I've some similar camo from the Balkans some where...I'll take a look.

              I don't think it's Swiss though.
