Actually, all I did was post a link to it to Roy QUEEN's thread. How this popped up I don't know. Not what I intended. Sorry.

Please if you will, refer back to Roy's thread and the link I posted there. I wish to keep his thread active and ongoing.

In the interim, I'm gonna have to go back and research what I did wrong that caused this thread to pop up the way it did. Not very "Cricket".
Michael, I brought it TTP...and why not? it was an interesting thread and plenty of the Newbies on the forum (including me) had not seen it before and I think the responses show that it is of interest.... very 'Cricket'.... (whatever that means?)...Cheers, Torsten.

      Hello Michael,

Actually, I'm glad that you posted a link to your post about these medals, I find the information that you've posted, and others to be very interesting. Hopefully, there will be an English language publication put out on the awards of the DDR in the future.

When it comes to DDR awards, it seems like we are at a disadvantage when compared to written materail on Third Reich awards. The more discussion, the better!

        Hi Roy,

I agree. I just didn't want to take away from your thread. That was why I posted the link. I mistakenly thought somehow in doing so, I also caused my original thread to re-appear.

It is of course okay that Torsten posted to it, thereby bringing it back to the front.

These threads are so we can all learn.

I hope that someone can help me with this...I just got in a larger lot of medals and certificates in that include the Kaempfer gegen den Faschismus 1933-1945 medal, the VVN medal, the guy's VVO and more...question I have is: to me it looks like the guy's Kaempfer gegen den Faschismus certificate is hand signed by Willy Stoph ---> was this done as a standard for the medal. Also I have the man's 40 years membership of the party certificate from 1970, which very much looks like it is handsigned by Walter Ulbricht...can that be or were all of the long service party certs at that time printed with Walter's signature??? still, to me it looks like it is inked??? will probably post pics at the weekend, but in the meantime I would love to hear from anyone who also has these certs or who has experience with them...Cheers, Torsten.

Torsten - I have posted a copy of my document dated from 1958 signed by Grotewohl. When time permits on your end, could you please provide the date of the document. My guess the document you have was signed after 1964 when Stoph was part of the council of ministers until 1973.

At this point I don't see any problems why Ulbricht would not have an original signature on the document.

So I hope this posts helps and I am ready for your additional posts...

Hi Ralph, thank you very much.... my Kaempfer gegen den Faschismus cert is from 3rd November 1965 and I am quite certain it is handsigned by Stoph and the document that looks like it is handsigned by Ulbricht is the man's 40 years SED membership cert...I have quite a few other certs for the man, but none have important signature on them....Cheers, Torsten.
