Sad news to pass on to the DDR collecting community...AR-11

Hello all - Today is a sad moment to let fellow forum members know that Dirk (AR-11) passed away yesterday. Today is a sad moment for me that I lost a close friend.

It's truly a sad day to hear of the Dirk's passing. Dirk was a good friend, Ralph and I were fortunate enough to spend time with him a few years ago when he visited the US on vacation.

Dirk was so proud of his visit to Fort Lee, Virgina in 2010, that he used this photo we took of him as his banner on Facebook.

Sad news indeed! Dirk will be remembered and missed by many, including those of us who never got to know him personally. I hope his family is well taken care of.

My, taken far to young. I did not know Dirk personally but his first hand experience answered an invaluable number of questions for me here on the forums. He will be missed. Condolences to his family. Vale, Dirk.

It is sad to read of the loss of one of the Genossen, Genosse AR-11 was a giant amongst our giants.

My best wishes to his Genossen, we toast him.
