DDR Christmas vacation

Hi there,

I just wanted to show some small things I brought back from Germany during my last trip. There is maybe nothing really special about these articles but I just wanted to share my some items of my small DDR collection. As a student I cannot afford really expensive and rare items as some of you on the board. Why I still want to share these small DDR items is because I don't know much about the medals (I mean the big coins) that I bought. I just found them interesting because of their message and their design.

So I will start with the badges,the "Wimpels" and the armbands that I bought.

I would need some additional information about these "medal-coin". I don't know how you call them in English ? If you know something about the following coins I would appreciate.

Hi Soviet,

You've got some nice patches and wimples, (Many from the Kampfgruppen); commemorative coins and plaques. A very nice collection. Also, your pieces are "Historic" in that they all appear to be specific to Berlin.

Hey Soviet...very nice collection and items you picked up no matter what you paid for them. Congrats... I find your medallions and pass booklets you posted interesting.

Also, hope you had a good vacation in Germany during your DDR hunting expedition...

Question: The two pass books you posted in your thread, are they blank or filled in?

They are sometimes reffered to as "table medals".
