    Value on Checkpoint Charlie sign?

I have had this sign for a while, I used to volunteer for the US Army Aviation Museum and while I was going through one of their storage warehouses I pulled this out and I was allowed to keep it.

I always wondered what the value on this may be as I have heard numbers all over the place and there is not a steady supply like medals for instance to see what they are currently going for.

Also I know that the signs with the numbers corresponded to where it was located on the wall, mine has no numbers.

    Thanks for your input!

I can't speak to value, but I can discuss the sign. It's an American Sector boundary marker sign, so it would have been found in many places along the wall though out the US controlled sector not just at Checkpoint Charlie. There are probably hundreds of these signs both used and unused. Your sign appears to be unused since it doesn't have any mounting holes nor is it numbered. The US Command Berlin/Berlin Brigade kept extras on hand to replace signs that were damaged.

Here is your sign at another crossing point in the American Sector of West Berlin that was used by West Germans. In the background you can see a US Army wall patrol and what appears to be the Berliner Dom which was in the Mitte District of East Berlin.

That's how a CC Sign should look like.

Your's is the Standard late Aluminium Sheet Style.
Looks like a Storage sign as, normally, used ones have a Number to tell MP's etc. where Help is needed. When you had trouble at the Border, you didn't had to say, Oh, there's a big tree, next to a Trash Can, you just said, i'm 10 Meters left to sing No. blablabla. Was much easier to c omefor Help.
Here'S an older Sign, made of painted Chipboard. On my one, you can see some extra paint in the lower right Corner, where they covered the Number.

2 other Border Sign's I saved from a Scrap Yard Container together with lots of others.
There is a Thread for them on the US Forum.

I wanted to buy that British sector sign but it was too much for me. I had it saved in my watch list expecting it not to sell and hoped it might be re-listed cheaper as I thought it was over valued. I guess at least one person in the world thinks its worth that much.

If anyone has one to sell at a more sensible price do get in touch.

Here are some signs I acquired during my time in the DDR. First up is a Tanks have Priority sign that could be found on main roads where tac trails crossed or near garrisons.
