    New Item ehrenabzeichen VoPo

I just bought this item on e-bay. An ehrenabzeichen VP with document. I have an article about medal in IMM and like the looks of it.

Anyone else who has one? There are three forms if I am correct. The forms were changed in time.

What do you thinks this set is worth?

Very nice and with the Urkunde is always a plus. This is one of the few awards that had a nice look and feel (heavy) about it even in its late production of 90's. Good find!

I would estimate its value betwen $25-$35 US Dollars.

    Best,
    John

      Volkbert,

Very nice find with the Urkunde and Mappe. I would agree with John's quote on price for the medal but would up it for a medal complete with the Urkunde and the Mappe. Does the Mappe have the name of the medal on the front at the bottom? The higher state awards do but I am not sure about this paticular medal.

      Regards,

      Gordon

Gordon, I don't know what is on the cover because I haven't received it yet. I make the payment tomorrow and hope to get the item within two weeks or so.

Actually, there are four. There were three "Pin Back" versions followed by the later type that is hung from a ribbon.

Attached is a photo showing all four variants:
Form top left to bottom center:

            1). Issued between 1949 - 1955.
            2). Issued between 1956 - 1962.
            3). Issued between 1963 - 1964.
            4). Issued between 1963 - 1989.

            Roy,

You inquired about the cost of the Pin Back types. I have seen them sell on German Ebay for no less than EURO 230. The older the type, the more costly they get.

Holy crap... those are nice! I have never seen or knew anything other then the suspension type! Just goes to show how much there is still to learn out there.

                Nice Collection, Mike!

Mike that is an outstanding colelction of Vopo medals! I'll have to put away some nickels and dimes to add a pin back version to the collection!

                  John and Roy,

                  Those are not mine.

I was just posting this example to clarify the variants so all would know what is out there. Like most everyone else, I just have one of the last type medals with the ribbon.

I would like to one day get one of the Pin-back type. I think they are quite nice.

On our quest to obtain the elusive pin back VOPO medal, maybe we can turn over some other odd pieces! My latest purchase was an agricultural "LPG" medal in a red presentation box, picked it up off of ebay for $4.00. It's not the elusive forestry medal I'm searching for, but a step in the right direction!
