It took alot of waiting but finally a maker released Matchbox-Hotwheels sized Ladas,The Trabant I'm going to wait on since I only have 1 and as 1 rule of thumb when customizing if I only have 1 and no spare I don't make a police one since I also want to have civillian ones of the models.
The Wartburgs and Wolgas I'll get later when I can afford more to spend on my hobby. I'll have to get these GRELL band models from Ebay since no U.S. store seems to carry them.
Anyway here are the Ladas I'll use:
UAZ Jeep (this one won't need custom painted since it's already the correct army green
That one will be for VolksPolizeiBereitschaft
I had planned to make them all (except Bepo UAZ Jeep) have the twin gumball/Presston 7512 lightbars if I can find those in that size..the 1:87th scale ones might work,I'll need to paint the backs of the 2 sirens black since on the real ones they was white/black, Finding those sirens will be difficult though. I can make the lightbars though with flat plastic scraps and the gumballs can be made from weedeater plastic cut to size, if I can't find the center sirens I guess they'll be without them

The paint I'll use is acryllic multisurface paint in white, the green will have to be custom mixed since they only seemed to make classic green, I can make it armyish by adding black and yellow to it and mixing it til the wanted shade is reached, Decals will be simple to make by printing the stars and hood and trunk plasters with star and VOLKSPOLIZEI onto peel and stick paper labels (I've seen this done with some models on Ebay but not yet VoPo ones).
I'll post pics when they're completed.
