obscure gas mask hood on ebay

just wondering what this is and if anyone has seen it before? so far we have come to the conclusion that it has been made up from a old zelt

Never Saw this before. I got lot's of Experimental suits and Hoods from an MfS Depot in 1991, but all the Hoods there were made of Rubberized Material.

I've seen this pop up on the bay years ago, weather it's real or not I cannot say. I tried to bid on it back then but was way overbid by others who thought it was real and wanted to put down a good amount of money for it. I wouldn't dare to give much money on it unless I could handle one in person to see how it's made.

my comment was a subtle joke/poke at our US friends .... as it is usually they, who (quite rightly) complain about postage from the UK to the US ... I have no interest whatsoever in buying one of these hoods .... no matter how low the price may be ...
