How nice. While the Americans were donating a portion of their pay checks in 1966 to United Way, it seems the DDR was doing the same for our "Unpopular War" of that time. I wonder if by giving 3 % of his earnings, this cost him a Trabi?

Funny, I don't recall getting a similar type of Urkunde from United Way back then?

Ralph, that is a really nice example of a very different kind of award.

Hey Mike...If you need a United Way receipt I think I might be able to find you one...HA...HA...HA!!!

On another note I have a STASI grouping who I believe was an advisor in Vietnam. I have from the grouping a Ho Chi Minh coin from the DDR and paper opener that was presented from the Vietnamese to this STASI person which at this time I am a bit hesitate to put up on the forum.

        Hi Ralph,

Astute observation you just made. Some things are better left commented on/upon, and left to the readers imagination. The "Unscrupolous" dealers out there who want to capitalize on the really rare or high end aspect of collectible militaria, are always prowling around Forums such as this.
