Historic site of the Potsdam Agreement

Hello All - I thought it would be of interest to start this thread and see if there are other members of this forum that may have the Meissen medallion of Historische Gedenkstatte Des Potsdamer Abkommens (Historic site of the Potsdam Agreement) - Cecilienhof, located in the northern part of the Neuer Garten park, Potsdam, Germany. This site is where the allies held the Potsdam conference just after WWII.

What I find of interest is that a few months ago I started acquiring a unique WP grouping from the same person that has some East German items. In this grouping was the brown medallion I have come to see from many years of collecting (photo one and two). To my surprise, I open another Meissen medallion case to find the same type medallion as the brown one, except this one is white (photo three and four).

Question: Does any other collector have the Historische Gedenkstatte Des Potsdamer Abkommens in white? I would be interested in any feedback you all may have, thanks.

I have not seen this particular medal before and I have (had) hundreds of Meissen table medals. Cheers, Torsten.

Torsten - Thanks for your comments. What is interesting is that I have seen only the brown one for the past 10 years.

I believe these were presented to VIPs that stayed or thoses that were associated with Cecilienhof.

The white Meissen would be more expensive than the brown Meissen. These were most likely issued as commemorative trinkets to more or less important visitors, but they may also have been available for sale. Although, Meissen medals were not typically offered at tourist souvenir shops in the DDR. Cheers, Torsten.

I had a white one about a hundred Years ago and learned that these were given to members of official delegations on meetings at cecilienhof. Can't say who got wich one, but for sure it wasn't given to "normal" Tourists. If I remember right you could buy Postcards, Booklets, Key Rings, Bookmarks and such stuff what was easy to produce a low costs.
