Hey all...The below seven images is of a Dynamo flag celebrating the twenty years of the DDR. The flag has two different sides with one side showing the Roman numeral XX, DDR coat of arms, DDR colors and the DDR letters with the other side being red in color with a circular write up and date. About eighty percent of the flag is made up of bullion with the other twenty percent being embroidered. The fringes around the flag are also made of bullion material. Hope you enjoy the images...and thanks...Ralph

Ralf,
I noted that one of the three presentation Banners for the Dynamo Flag was in celebration of what appears to be a 25th Aniversary. That particular Banner is dated 1974. If correct, it would appear Leipzig had one heck of a Major Sports Program dating back to 1949.
A very nice Flag. Clearly the Dynamo Program (Overseen by the Stasi) was of monumental importance in Leipzig, given the quality of this particular Flag. Or maybe they just produced flags of better quality back in 69.
One could say 69 was a very good year.Michael D. GALLAGHER

Rusty...I have posted the below image to show how close the two countries were to each other during the Cold War. Each side of the cloth shows each country's youth organization, spy organization and sports organization with Richard Sorge in the center. The cloth is about three foot by three foot.
Hey Mike...your right about the early days...and the quality on what the DDR handed out and made for their organizations. The one thing I find of interest is that I have never seen a flag with bullion used. I have seen and have a few embroidered flags in my collection. RalphSomebody, after all, had to make a start. I hadn't thought about it until you mentioned it again, but your observation is right. Until you posted pics of this particular Flag, I'd not ever seen a Flag with Bullion in it either - just embroidered ones.
For certain, you have some very unique and seldom if ever seen, MdI/Stasi related memorabilia. Really awesome stuff . Keep it coming.Michael D. GALLAGHER
