Hi everybody,
I got another estate of an ex-NVA officer, sounded pretty normal but it had some unusual items like a Minol Ehrenzeichen in Gold and Volkskontrolle medal and document. The rest was just normal KVP, Treue Dienste and Verdienst-medaille with documents. OK, the document for the bronze TD medal was numbered, but I have a few of these so not really something special.
But it really knocked me over when I saw that the medal war numbered as well! Seems the guy did not have his original medal exchanged, for whatever reason - but I am glad he didnĀ“t do it!!! The first numbered bronze TD medal I have in my collection - and it was pure coincidence...
The TD in silver is stamped 900 on the rim, the man retired in 1977 as a Major.
