I've only got two 900 silver marked East German medals, a silver Verdienstmedaille der NVA and a gold ......treue Dienste in the NVA medal.
Variations exist of just these two medals in several forms, most EG medals are 'Buntmetall' which reminds me of the TR medals. Albeit, to be honset the EG medals are just as varied and many in versions, strikes, dates etc etc as the TR........in fact they are more complex dare I say and thankfully undervalued.
Not many people are aware of certain and earlier EG medals with there contents of silver and those that are hallmarked with the silver content of 900 or in other words 90.0% part silver.
Are there any other 'silver' content medals out there in your collections ?
Kind regards,
Marcus
