ADMV wimpel

I really didn't know I had this scarf,but I found it folded with a few other small items wich are no thread starters but I'd like to show them anyway.
two wimpels of the ADMV.
dirtbike and watermotersport.
I had my first dirt bike age 15,KTM 250.
when crop was harvested the fields were our territory.
must have happened in the DDR as well as anywhere else.
never had a boat however.
yet.

Are you inferring that this is now a thread where all members can post examples of their DDR wimples?

Or just a thread about the dirt bike and boat wimple?

No problem either way - just wanted to know which to insure we follow the yellow brick road, and not the one that leads to the "Wicked Witch of the North".

Gentlemen,

As often happens when someone posts something I don't know much about I start trying to learn. Therefore, here is what I have learned about this organization over the last few days plus some wimpels I found on the net. One could build an interesting motor/water sport collection of these wimpels. I wasn't always able to find pictures where both sides of the wimpel were shown so please accept my applogy for that.

The ADMV was founded on 2 June, 1957 in what was then East Berlin, as the governing body for motor sport in the GDR. There were 64 delegates at the founding meeting, in the Oak Room of the Berlin Headquarters of the Gesellschaft für Deutsch-Sowjetische Freundschaft (Society for Building German-Soviet Friendship,). Mainly motor sports officials and athletes. The ADMV was to be the national umbrella organization for automobile racing, motorcycle racing and motor water sports. The ADMV was therefore composed of all of the motor sports clubs and associations in the GDR. The ADMV was a full member in the FIA, FIM and UIM until 1990. The logo of the ADMV was chosen, following the founding of the organization, from suggestions submitted by members and athletes. The pre-existing magazine Illustrated Motor Sport (Sports Verlag, Berlin) became the internal publication of the Association.
