    My NVA/DDR Bookshelf

Since it's a slow day on the forum I thought I'd post a few photos of my NVA/DDR bookshelf. I took the photos for another forum when someone asked what was behind a bag I had photographed in front of the bookshelf. I also have a second bookshelf for all of my US collecting related books and then an overflow of books scatted across my man cave.

Hats/Berets and my mostly Soviet shelf:

Middle shelves, at lot of of the German titles were books I bought in East Berlin during my service in Berlin:

The shelf at the top of the photo is mostly Volksmarine related books, with Ralph's excellent two volume set on the Stasi on top.

Here on the bottom right are a pile of NVA reference books that I use frequently.

These books on the left are mostly misc. DDR titles I picked up in East Berlin

    Kevin,
nice, let me know if you get a 2nd one. Yesterday I found 2 Boxes in my Storage with NVA Regulations and Handbooks, like Engineers, Drivers Teacher and other Funny Stuff. Also a very Rare Militärisches Grundwissen in the Kampfgruppenausgabe.

      Kevin,

I think you just volunteered to be the resident expert regarding all things DDR.

Michael, I think you are being much too modest. You have most of the same standard reference books and a better command of the English language than I do.

All kidding aside, having a good reference library on DDR/NVA has saved me a lot of money over the years.

Now if I can only convince my wife to allow me to take over the much larger bonus room over the garage once the last of the kids moves out. I'd have more room for books, uniforms and equipment!

kevin - That area looks very familiar.

If I think about it...I should photo my Cold War section of reference books to add to your thread.

Ralph, That sounds like an excellent idea! Do you think you can get past the time lock on your vault this time of day?
