You should be able to find it, I found Keubke's "Uniformen der DDR" on one of those torrent and ware thingies, and once I learn a little more German, I sure think it will help.

The books are fairly self explanatory.
If need be, a translation program like Babelfish can be used.
Not perfect, but it will suffice.

For the inexperienced and/or new to the DDR collector, these two books are must have books.
If you rely on ebay, you are going to end up spending good hard earned money on fakes and reproductions that are worth a fraction of the money spent, and have absolutely no historical relevance let alone collecting value and interest.

Before buying memorabilia and before buying other reference books, these two books are an absolute must for the library. They are and always have been, the DDR Collecting Bibles. There is also one for Wasserwirtschaft.

What site did you find it on? I'm on Demonoid but no one has it there yet, I'm gonna check some German and other EU torrent sites.

probably a silly question, but what are warez and torrent sites?? Cheers, Torsten.

Kevin and Nico are right of course ... this has nothing to do with dog handlers. Cheers, Torsten.

OMG Torsten buddy you really ought to enjoy the decedent things of the West more often

Ok I don't want to get all technical here but a torrent is like this, I have something,You want it and I'd like to give it to you, I pack it into a file and then using a torrent maker make a torrent and pack that torrent to a folder on my PC, You have a torrent getting thing on your PC..I upload the thing to a torrent site and you see it,download it and enjoy it.

Warez are slightly diffrent because your time to get them is often limited because these are hosted on a file server (RapidShare,FileFactory,Etc. but follow the same principal..Someone has something you want and you see it and they are willing to share it and you download it from a site.

I don't remember where I found it, sorry...But I remember HOW I found it. Just type in "Keubke Uniformen der DDR" or something like that in Google search and you'll find it.

right, so it is file sharing or p2p, as it used to be called and not some physical selling sites ...

Yes but be VERY careful what you take, Not all is as it seems..When you download a torrent the size is small (like 250KB,etc.) but once you open it in your opener (I use UTorrent) make sure you look at all the files first, For movies it should be something like How DDR Fell.MKV,Gone With The Wind.AVI, The Avengers.VOB,The Anime.FLV, If you don't see a video format on the files like MKV,AVI,FLV,VOB,etc. then be wary of it and if when you open the torrent in a opener and it is still a VERY small size DON'T download it,just delete it because it's most likely a virus, You and I both know movies are NOT gonna be less than at least 100MB per file, Books and songs are diffrent though, These can be big or small size files ,I once downloaded the Harry Potter series and I think it was just 6MB for all these books, Depending on how they are presented books may be just KBs in size or they can be MBs too,PDF files seem to take up much less room than IMG,JPG,or PNG.

Here is 2 good reliable torrent sites you might like:

www.torrentcafe.com (must register but free to use and put things on there)

www.demonoid.me (once was a register and invite only site but now you can just go right in,Must register to comment on torrents or join forums though)

Demonoid recently spit into 2 sites, Regular and Beta,If you find something but can't download it click the Beta thing and it will probably be there,You will find these sites useful especially if you want to share a book on collectables with collectors but only have 1 book and don't want to sell your only one, Just photoscan the pages cover to cover, pack to a folder, make a torrent and put it on one of the sites, post the links to them here and collectors could download them
