    Achtung kontrolle !!!!

    Genossen,

Here you see a Obersekretär of the DDR zollverwaltung. He is checking a reisepass.

German ww2 is my main interest, but DDR is coming close after it

Don't you need the EM Cap Badge for this Set?

There is already a EM cap badge attached.
The picture of the mannequin is from a view months ago.

I wonder what DDR Customs police vehicles looked like? I have never seen them just the VolksPolizei vehicles and NVA MP (Militärstreife) ones.

Would be intresting to see the Zoll vehicles of DDR.

Don't know about ranks with the Zoll, but I assume from Nico's comment that this is a non-officer rank shown here? In that case I would think that the Academy Degree badge is also wrong as I would assume that only officer ranks would have graduated from the Zoll Academy? Cheers, Torsten.

                    Torsten,

You are correct. The rank displayed on this uniform is for Obersekretär. The highest Non Comissioned Officers rank in the Zoll. The officers school badge would not be worn by this rank. The visor cap is correct for this uniform.

                    Regards,

                    Gordon

Now the zoll beambte is "in ordnung".

Very nice, I am envious, especially of the hat and breeches.

This is a very nice piece of film.

Customs wore navy blue, unpiped tunics back then?

09:18... packets of worn-out shoes, rags and propaganda leaflets, sent from (non-existent - how did they know that??? Stasi operatives in Berlin-West who tried tracking down the sender/address?) scoundrels in Berlin-West, with the intention of provoking and humiliating East Berliners with their dirty tactics, intercepted by customs officers.

Hello all - From my re-search in the Stasi area, I have a question on what was written in posts 9 and 10.

First, my observation, during the Cold War the MfS had a small number of NCOs that attended or corresponded through the JHS academy.

My question is this; Did any NCOs from the other DDR branches attend professional badge schools?
Somebody, after all, had to make a start. What we wrote and said is also believed by many others. They just don't dare express themselves as we did. Quote - Sophie Scholl - White Rose resistance group
