    Stasi DDR props in 2011 movie Unknown

    Saw 'Unknown' for the first time last night. It takes place in Berlin, so that was the first plus. Lots of snowy Berlin in November. Next was the involvement of a former member of the Stasi. No spoilers from me. Here is a link to the trailer:

    The office of the former Stasi member has a lot of props, so I am including the screen shots. I found them interesting..

        Jeff, Very good stills of Ernst Jürgen's (Bruno Ganz) apartment. It's got that unchanged since unification vibe, as if it's a time capsule of the DDR period.

        I saw the movie when it first came out and liked it so much that I bought it on DVD. I also found myself pausing the movie to see the Stasi memorabilia and awards in Jürgen's apartment.

          Jeff - thanks for the thread. I have not seen the movie yet. I find it interesting about the volor of the 25 year dagger and if you look closely...the signature of the five service document was by Stoph. Which indicates he was not with the MfS when he joined or was in covert status. Which would be the same for the 25 year dagger.
