    I checked in at the local surplus store today, and found a jacket of east german make which I found rather strange.
    The jacket was black (or dark blue) in colour and had Army leutenant shoulderboards, probably added later, with Army kragenspiegel. No markings were visible and it was badly motheaten. What could this be? A feuerwehr jacket with added insignia? The price was 40 dollars; is it a good buy, especially with terrible moth damage to liner?
    I will take pictures next time I visit there.

    Also, is 10 dollars a good price for NVA officer raincoat or trousers?

    What was the colour of the piping on the jacket? $10 for good condition raincoats and trousers sounds ok, as you will not have to pay postage on top of that ... Cheers, Torsten.

      I think the piping was white.
